We support communities in Greater Cincinnati as residents and local governments work to implement Vision Zero: a strategy to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries while increasing safe, healthy, and equitable mobility for all.
Since 2005, more than 1,000 people have needlessly been killed on Greater Cincinnati streets, and more than 100,000 have been injured. That’s the population of a medium sized city. We call these events traffic “accidents”—but in reality, we have the power to prevent such traffic collisions.
First implemented in Sweden in the 1990s, Vision Zero has proved successful across Europe—and now it’s gaining momentum in major American cities.
In 2019, The Devou Good Foundation created a task force to support cities in Greater Cincinnati as they work to implement Vision Zero. We endeavor to bring about positive change by focusing on education and engineering.
